Google Classroom Tutorial
Introduction:
Google Classroom is a free web based tool developed by Google.This is a educational purpose plateform , which is aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way among teachers and students. Google Classroom integrates mainly with Google Drive, which allow teachers to share resources effortlessly. Students can easily access that assignments and resubmit their assignments to teachers.
How do use:
Create Class
- Sign in to your Google account and navigate to Google Classroom (classroom.google.com).
- Click on the “+” icon in the top right corner and select “Create class.”
- Enter the class name, section (optional), subject, and room.
- Click “Create” to finalize the creation of your Google Classroom.
Assign Work
- Navigate to Classwork:
- Â click on the “Classwork” tab at the top of the page.
- Create New Assignment:
- Click on the “+” icon in the Classwork tab.
- Select “Create assignment” from the dropdown menu.
- Enter Assignment Details:
- Add a title for the assignment in the provided field.
- Enter description for the assignment in the description box.
- Set the due date and time for the assignment (optional).
- Attach any necessary files, links, or materials for the assignment.
- Assign to Students:
- Choose whether to assign the work to the entire class or specific students.
- If assigning to specific students, select their names from the list provided.
- Optional Settings:
- Use the “Schedule” option to set a specific date and time for the assignment to be posted.
- Enable or disable the option for students to edit their work after submission.
- Choose whether to assign points to the assignment and set the total points possible.
- Review and Post:
- Review the assignment details to ensure accuracy.
- Click on the “Assign” button to post the assignment to the class stream.
- Monitor Student Progress:
- Once the assignment is posted, students will receive a notification and can access the assignment from their Google Classroom dashboard.
- Monitor student submissions, provide feedback, and grade assignments using the built-in grading tools.
- Track Submissions and Grades:
- Track student submissions and grades from the “Grades” tab within Google Classroom.
- Review and grade student work, provide feedback, and return assignments to students.
- Inviting Students to Join the Class:
- Once the class is created, you’ll be directed to the class dashboard.
- Click on the “People” tab at the top.
- Click on the “+ Invite students” button.
- You can then enter the email addresses of the students you want to invite or share the class code with them, which they can use to join the class.
Join Class:
- Students can join a Google Classroom by:
- Going to classroom.google.com and signing in with their Google account.
- Clicking on the “+” icon and selecting “Join class.”
- Entering the class code provided by the teacher or accepting an email invitation to join the class.
- Students can join a Google Classroom by:
Delete Class
- Go to classroom.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
- Select the class you want to delete from your list of classes.
- Click on the settings gear icon (located at the top right corner of the class header).
- Choose “Delete” from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking “Delete” again in the pop-up window.
